Explore the former imperial capital with a knowledgable local guide using public transportation. Start at either the magnificent Fushimi Inari Shrine or the Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum. Visit the unique Sanjusangendo Temple, the beautiful temples of Kodaji and Kenninji before strolling down the streets of Gion, Kyoto's famous geisha district. Stop at Gion Corner, a showcase for the seven professional performance arts.
Meet your guide in the hotel lobby and use public transportation to reach Nijo, an ornamental castle built as the Kyoto residence of the Tokugawa shoguns. Continue to Heian shrine, famous for its huge vermillion torii gate. In the afternoon, visit Eikando Temple before continuing to Ginkakuji and the Philosopher's Path, a pleasant walk along a stone path which follows a canal lined by hundreds of cherry trees.
Your day is at leisure until the time comes to make your way to the airport independently for your onward journey.

On most tours, you can choose our 'Happy to Share' option, which may enable you to share a twin room with other solo customers of the same gender who also request Happy to Share. If a share partner is found, the Single Supplement will be removed from your booking. If a share partner is not found, the Single Supplement will remain and is payable with your final balance.
If you are booking on a Dedicated Solo departure, a single room is already included in the price and there are no additional single supplements to pay.
